TROOP 548 – TOMAHAWK, WI
TROOP MISSION
1)
The mission of Troop 548 is to prepare young people to make ethical choices over their lifetimes by
instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law.
2)
The goal of the Troop is to help boys develop into honorable men through the following:
a.
Character development (confidence without conceit; honesty; self respect; skill development; self
sufficiency; dependability; reverence for God; respect for others)
b.
Citizenship training (national heritage; understanding of social/governmental/economic systems;
service to others; knowledge and respect for others; community awareness; appreciation and respect
for environment).
c.
Mental and physical fitness (Improvement of general condition; good personal habits; proper
weight; rejection of substances; mental alertness; good judgement; resourcefulness).

The Troop uses the following methods to meet boy’s expectations and to achieve the mission:
a.
The ideals of the Scout Oath, Law, Motto, and Slogan.

The patrol method.

The outdoors

Troop 548’s Scouting Program is values based with its own code of conduct. The Scout Oath and Law
help to instill the values of good conduct and honesty. Boys in the Troop can be expected to learn
lifetime skills to include basic outdoor skills, first aid, citizenship, leadership, self-reliance, and how to
get along with others. The Troop 548 experience is intended to prepare the young man to live a more
productive and fulfilling life.
